:: Snorkeling
Tourists who wish to experience natural beauty of underwater world shall make tour boat reservation via Tourist Service Center at Chong Khad Bay or Mai Ngam Bay. Boat fee is 120 baht/person/day.

Daily snorkeling tour includes 2 trips: morning and afternoon. One who wishes to take only 1 trip (morning or afternoon) will be charged half the fee (60 baht). Reservations shall be made at 18.00 – 20.00 in advance of following day trips.

  • Morning trip: fee collection 8.00 – 8.30; departure 09.00; return 11.00
  • Afternoon trip: fee collection 13.00 – 13.30; departure 14.00; return 16.00

:: Snorkeling equipments (lifejacket & snorkel) are available for rent at rate 150 baht/set/day (80 baht for half-day).

Snorkeling schedule varies between lodging locations as described below.

People who stay at Mai Ngam Bay may choose between the following options.

With a proper scheduling, it’s possible to cover all snorkeling area of the islands. Our recommendation is not to miss a spot. Each place has its own appealing uniqueness.

 

Snorkeling Schedule Example:

Day 1

  • 07.30: Gather for setting out at Khuraburi. Prepare snorkeling equipments and personal baggage.
  • 8.30: Speed boat departs from Khuraburi pier and heads to Surin Islands. Ride across Richerew Rock diving zone, the meeting place for scuba diver and whale shark the world’s biggest fish.
  • Arrive at National Park Office on Surin Nua Island. Transfer baggage to the tent. Go sightseeing around Chong Khad Bay. Relax all you wish and prepare for afternoon snorkeling.
  • After lunch at the park’s cafeteria, ride a tour boat to Mae Yai Cape to see interesting hump coral reefs.
  • Go on to Tao Bay, a very good snorkeling location with clear water, various kinds of coral, and sea turtles – the bay owners who always show up to greet their visitors. From time to time, if you are lucky, you may be welcomed by hovering giant rays.
  • 16.30: Get back to Chong Khad Bay to relax or enjoy bathing around the beach. This is also a nice chance to see marvelous view of evening sun.
  • 19.00: Gather at the park’s cafeteria. Dinner’s ready. Enjoy and relax.

 

Day 2

  • After breakfast, go snorkeling around Suthep Bay, Mungkorn Bay, and Mai Ngarm Bay.
  • Get back for lunch at the park’s cafeteria. Enjoy and relax.
  • In the afternoon, visit Phak-kad Bay where corals look similar to lettuce plants (phak-kad) – that’s how it got its name.
  • Even though Phak-kad Bay is not so vast, it boasts numerous kinds of coral and hosts colloquium between breeds of butterflyfish and angelfish.
  • Head to Torinla Island, the greatest diving zone of Surin Islands, to enjoy vast thicket of staghorn coral, sea turtles, and flocks of saltwater fish awaiting you.
  • It’s time to get back to the park’s office and get relaxed by beach activities and dinner service. Take a rest.

 

Day 3

  • After breakfast, get back on the boat and head to Chak Bay. Only if you wear diving mask and put your head in the water, you may see large shallow-water sea fan and many kinds of coral.
  • Go on to Stork Island where people dream to encounter with whale shark.
  • Straight to the village of Morgan Tribe, original seamen wanderer whose lifestyle is prescribed by primary customs and traditions. This is a cultural center for tourists to study native way-of-life and experience the last seamen tribe of Thailand.
  • Enjoy lunchtime at the park’s office. Prepare personnel baggage for returning trip. Take pictures of the last memorable day. It’s time to leave. Get on the boat again and head to Khuraburi pier.
  • 16.00: Arrive at Khuraburi safely. Return diving equipments. Take a shower and get change before going home.
